That is why he became an apprentice machinist in 1879. What's more, he serviced steam engines in a Detroit factory 3 years later. When he was 25ish, he married Clara Bryant. Since he had a good work, he became the chief engineer at the Edison Company in 1893. Then, 3 year later, he created the Quadricycle.

Notwithstanding that he had a good position in the Edison Company, he decided to quit it in order to found the Ford Motor company in 1903. It apparently worked pretty well since he implemented the first moving assembly line 10 years later, to build the “Model T” that he created in 1908. As a result, he sold 15 millions Model Ts, at $300 each. Moreover, his workers were paid more for less work compared to the other one. They indeed worked only 40 hours in 5 days per week.
